Which PDF files does this converter support?

The tool supports standard PDF files of any page count up to 50MB. It works with text PDFs, scanned PDFs, PDFs with images, and mixed-content PDFs. Password-protected PDFs are not supported — you must remove the password first.

Should I choose PNG or JPG?

Choose PNG for lossless quality — ideal for text documents, diagrams, and anything where sharpness matters. Choose JPG for smaller file sizes — good for photo-heavy PDFs where slight compression is acceptable. PNG is the default recommendation for document conversion.

What does the resolution setting (1× to 4×) do?

The scale multiplier controls how many pixels are generated per PDF point. A PDF point is 1/72 inch. At 2× scale, each page renders at 144 effective DPI — suitable for most screen and web uses. At 4×, the output reaches ~288 DPI, suitable for print-quality images. Higher scales produce larger files and take longer to render.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. The entire conversion runs locally in your browser using Mozilla's pdf.js library and the HTML5 Canvas API. Your PDF file is never sent to any server — it is read directly from your device's memory.
